Warre's Vintage Port 1977
Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalFrom the cellar. Tasted a dozen times or more but we never get tired of this fabulous, old mature ’77. Notes of died cherries and candied cranberries, Christmas cake, brown sugar, heated molasses and medicinal notes. It’s taken several decades for this port to find its feet, but forty years along now it has settled into its bones perfectly. Delicious now and an experience for all, this is the reason we cellar wine. Less rich than some, more mineral than most.
