Quails' Gate Old Vines Foch Reserve 2014
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMarechal Foch grapes from their estate vineyard in Kelowna, planted fifty years ago, make up this layered, earthy and cultish red. Full bodied and complexed with earthy twine, cherry, forest berries, stewed rhubarb, hickory and cured meats. Tannins are furry, though the palate is smooth to a snappy, smoked branch and bitter dark chocolate finish.
