Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAllegretto is a single vineyard Osoyoos merlot, planted on its own rootstock (pie franco) in white silica sand. This is full, youthful and dense, with the tight fist of sun-ripened density meeting the gentle expansion of sixteen-year-old vines on silica sand. Eighteen months in French oak provides the background to this brooding, full red, flushed out with black cherry, cassis, tobacco, dark plum and structured with ample sinewy tannins. The finish is hot and dusky spiced.
