LaStella Allegretto Merlot Pie Franco 2012
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Allegretto vines are planted to own rootstock (pie franco) in white silica sand. The nose is a mix of intense, lifted blueberry and red fruits. The attack is fresh and lean with prominent acidity subduing some light but grippy tannins at this point. Only 12 percent new French oak comes into play leaving a lighter more forward style red wine that is suited to grilled beef with grilled fall vegetables or soft cheeses. This will need time to settle in and soften just a bit at the edges. Very pure but edgy red.Tasted: 06 July 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $65.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
