Torres Celeste Crianza 2012

Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainThis tempranillo from high altitude vineyards in Ribera Del Duero takes its name from the heavens, seemingly within reach at 895 metres high. The label is a depiction of the constellations seen if you look straight up when you’re standing in the vineyard. And this intense, stylish and modern red is as full and potent as the night sky. Heady blackberry, cassis jam, and ripe black plums are veined with peppery spice, potent espresso and a lick of vanilla. Ample ripe tannins support the full palate, and the year in American and French oak is highly evident. Pour with rich braised lamb to best some of the density and heat on the finish.Tasted: 15 February 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
