Quails' Gate Stewart Family Reserve Pinot Noir 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe old volcanic slopes at Quails’ Gate are the backdrop to this pinot noir, perhaps the best we have tasted yet from Quails’ Gate. The Family Reserve is a blend of pinot noir clones grown on old vines, 11-28 year old vines on the Mount Boucherie bench. The nose is complex mix of red fruits and spice with a dash of dried herbs with a dry, warm, spicy finish still with some tannin to shed. Try it with baked salmon or duck breast for best results now or cellared it for three to five years. Including the pre-soak the wine spends nearly a month on the skins before spending 10 months in 50% new French oak. 12,000 bottles produced.Tasted: 23 September 2015Tasted by: Prices:
