Tantalus Old Vines Riesling 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaYear after year this remains one of BC's cult rieslings, garnering love from locals and afar (Jancis Robinson among them). In contrast to Tantalus' young, juicy riesling release, this is a mature, serious and structured model, built for aging. They pack a lot of concentration into this focussed, structured form. Granny smith apple, light eraser and white grapefruit aromas. The dry palate surges with stony minerality, tense green apple, eraser, lime pulp, mandarin pith and herbal lemongrass. Acidity is taut and zesty and the mineral and green apple finish lengthy. Much complexity from these 1978 vines and low yields. Drinking very well now, but will reward for the next decade.Tasted: 13 July 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
