Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, SpainA very warm growing season has made for a bigger, richer, fuller style Rioja that is more California that Rioja this year. The attack is rich and round with an impressive weighty front end, full of black cherry and cook blackberries with a twist of spice. Not a classic Rioja but should be well received in American restaurants and, it is clean to boot.
