Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, SpainNo shortage of old wood and damp cellar notes mark the the nose of this tempranillo that spends a lot of time in wood and bottle underground. The nose is decidedly mature and advanced but the attack is more normal Rioja Reserva. Look for soft tempranillo tannins with an earthy red fruit mid-palate and along vanilla cran/cherry finish. Lamb would the equalizer there.
