Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA potent and expressive nose of pear blossom, elastic, stone and citrus leaps from the glass. The pulsing palate is alive with honeyed citrus, lime pulp, white blossom and green apple, with zesty lime cordial on the finish. A kick of residual sugar (left after 57 days cold fermentation in stainless) plumps out the 8.8 percent alcohol. An electric and exciting wine to drink now, but should impress with its honeyed weight in 5 years time. Pour with ahi tuna tataki and papaya salad.Tasted: 10 March 2015Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWe applaud winemaker Darryl Brooker's research into low-alcohol riesling. Finding the BC sweet spot where fruit and alcohol excel is nothing short of noble and necessary. The 2013 single block of riesling that caught Brooker's eye was "Block Three" and it went Platinum. The vines are 22-year-old vines and because they ripened earlier Brooker picked at lower sugars and made an 8.8 percent wine. The floral nose and the citrus, limey flavours remind me of Clare riesling. Light and bright it has a delicate purity that is fun to drink. Try this with a summer chicken salad.Tasted: 26 July 2014Tasted by: Prices:
