Rasteau, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceI look forward to trying this consistent wine each vintage - a well-priced quality GSM blend from one of the oldest wineries in the Rhone Valley. The thin patina on 2010 is wearing well, showing light floral thorn and stone on the nose before heading into a wild edged palate of violets, cherries, plum and a hint of lurking anise. Gummy/fuzzy tannins linger into faint floral black cherry. Pair with pork tenderloin and enjoy now.Tasted: 12 October 2014Tasted by: Prices:

Rasteau, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceIt's unthinkable that the 2010 could be as good as the 2009 but it may be even better. The mix is a blend of 70/20/10 grenache, syrah and mourvèdre and it grabs your attention from the nose to the finish. The nose is a mix of ripe, red and dark fruit flavours with smoky spicy notes. The entry is fragrant with soft slippery black cherry and plum fruit with bits of kirsch, licorice root and some savoury, meaty notes. This is a barbecue star you should buy by the case. Try it with assorted grilled meats or cellar and drink through 2015.Tasted: 08 May 2012Tasted by: Prices:
