Rasteau, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceFrom the excellent 2009 vintage this Rasteau red is a 70/20/10 blend of grenache, syrah and mourvèdre. Expect an attractive sweet smoky nose with bits of red fruit spice. The entry is fragrant with black cherry, plum, licorice root, savoury, meaty, peppery, kirsch flavours. Big warm finish with some intensity.
