Ortas La Domeliére Rasteau 2014

Rasteau, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThis Hillside Rasteau red is planted on chalky-limestone terraces covered with pebbles. The mix is 70 percent grenache, 20 percent syrah and 10% mourvèdre vines that are on average 40 years. The nose is a mix of mostly red fruit flavours, flecked with liquorice and garrigue. The palate is fleshy with jammy meaty fruit flavours sprinkled with black pepper and bright acidity. This will improve over the short term in bottle or serve now with roasted pork, veal or chicken or pair with fresh goat and sheep cheeses.Tasted: 24 June 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
