Barone Ricasoli Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico 2008

Florence, Tuscany, ItalyCastello Brolio is the flagship. In 2008 the mix is 80/10/10 sangiovese, merlot, and cabernet sauvignon. The nose is immediately enticing with cigar, gamey, mineral, floral, cherry jam aromas. The attack is dry, and elegant with mixed red and black fruit flavours with a squeeze of orange. The finish is long smoky and stylish with a savoury liquorice mineral undercurrent. Still maturing it should peak about 2020.
