Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainShowing some brettanomyces and acidity the '96 was picked from September 15 on; it was given more maceration (28 days) and more oak (18 months in French casks) than its predecessors resulting in a richer wine with denser more fine tannins. Look for a big dense red mixing cassis and black fruit flavours with bits of chocolate, coffee and spice.
