Torres Grans Muralles 2004
Conca de Barbera, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe 2009 Gran Muralles is a new blend of 35 percent garnacha and 35 percent cariñena mixed with monastrell garró and querol. The latter is the latest ancient variety revived by the Torres team and it may become one of the best yet. A percentage of whole berry fermentation has freshened the front end and help to produce density and sweetness of tannins without any bitterness. Big stony mineral and elegant this wine is crazy good and it's just a baby. This is one for the cellar and the next decade.
