Torres Grans Muralles 2005

Conca de Barbera, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainGran Muralles is a different concept at Torres. It's a blend of ancient Catalan grape varieties including monastrell, garnacha tinta, garró, samsó and cariñena. Expect a spicy, black cherry, black raspberry, coffee, roasted meat, floral nose with notes of leather, barnyard, liquorice root and smoky, savoury. There is lots of complexity here. Dry, full, round, warm and fresh with supple, grainy tannins. Chocolate, meaty, coffee, cassis, black cherry, orange, pepper, tobacco, cedar, licorice and slate flavours. Finish is long and dry but elegant with some tannin to shed. Drinkable now with any meat dish, it should improve for 3-7 years. A unique and enjoyable blend of native varieties.Tasted: 05 March 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
