Viader Vineyards Proprietary Red Wine 2009
Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, California, United StatesYouthful floral, mineral wet stone aromas with bits of graphite, red fruits dried herbs and espresso. Again that red fruit dried herb savoury flavour comes to the forefront but in a slightly more generous package than we have seen over the years. That said 2009 was a cool year in Napa and long hang-time has intensified flavours without boosting the alcohol through the roof. A sleeper that will take time but with fine potential. Now aged 80 percent in new French Oak for 24 months. Served with whole roasted Canadian prime rib-eye, Taleggio polenta, preserved cherry tomato, grilled rapini crispy elephant garlic roasted garlic jus. In '07 the blend was 70 cabernet sauvignon and 30 cabernet franc.Tasted: 22 April 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:US | $94.00 | 750ml | average retail |
