Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, California, United StatesA cooler year has really emphasized the Euro style at Viader where elegance and structure take precedence of weight and power. Love the black plums and red raspberries on the nose and the wet stone mineral, floral flecks throughout the front end and mid-palate. Still intense and fruity after all these years but that exuberance is balanced by a spicy dried herb eucalyptus flavored finish. The blend is 61/39 cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc.
