Poet's Leap Riesling 2011
Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesIt appears that Poet's Leap is now firmly on track in regard to style and flavour. It's a blend of Columbia Valley fruit from several regions each designed by managing partner Armin Diel to bring different flavours and textures to the mix. Sonnet Vineyard at The Benches is the base blend now nine years old and planted to German clones known for their minerality and a flint. Phil Church Vineyard (Yakima) adds citrus and electricity while Weinbau Vineyard and old-vine Dionysus Vineyard add the peach notes. The 2011 starts with freshness and fine aromatics flecked with mineral, citrus aromas followed by peach orange, candied grapefruit and lime flavours. Juicy food friendly yet restrained.Tasted: 03 February 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $35.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Mark Anthony Brands |
