Blue Mountain Pinot Blanc 2009

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAt 13 percent alcohol this pinot blanc made from 24 year old fruit is well worth investigating. The vintage was relatively cool but maturity was easily reached by September 25. Two French clones are used and 55% fermented and aged in stainless steel; 45% is fermented and aged for 6 months in 4 year old French oak barrels. The '09 is positively swimming in bright fruit showing bits of peaches and apricots with flecks of citrus rind and green pear. Halibut, salmon, clams and even crab would be a wonderful fit here. One of the best pinot blancs in the valley.Tasted: 31 December 2010Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
