Pirramimma Petit Verdot 2005

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaAustralia wine scribe Tim White says, "Pirramimma has long been a benchmark for varietal verdot [in Oz]," and in 2005 it continues. Expect a huge sweet, black fruit nose and plenty of American oak vanilla undertones. The palate is warm and dense with more black fruit and spice and a touch of heat in the finish. With some rich tannin still lingering about think about lamb chops or a leg of lamb to softened the finish or cellar it for another three to five years.
