Pirramimma Petit Verdot 2000

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaThe petit verdot winemaking objective at Pirramimma has always been to produce a wine in the cabernet sauvignon style. It has fine colour and smoky spicy cedar nose flecked with black cherry and vanilla. There are similar flavours on the palate with more smoky barrel notes in the finish. Smooth on the palate with some gritty tannins that have yet to dissipate. Reflects the somewhat ordinary 2000 vintage.Tasted: 07 June 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
