Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalA hallelujah vintage this '04 is black cherry in colour with just a touch of brick at the edge. Spicy, floral, black liquorice, peppery, black plums and black tea aromas. Rich, ripe, round and sweet but with fine acidity and still some tannin. A bit spirity with very spicy, cocoa, liquorice, plum jam, blackberry, menthol flavours. Fleshy, warm, round slightly sweeter style. Still a big boy that needs another decade of aging in bottle. A great gift for collectors.Tasted: 07 December 2008Tasted by: Prices:
