Ridge Geyserville 2006
Sonoma County, California, United StatesForty-one vintages later Geyserville remains a beacon for single-site zinfandel. The nose is a peppery mix of bramble berry jam and meaty licorice notes. The attack is ripe and warm with plenty of big juicy exotic fruit with black cherry jam, bramble berry fruit, orange peel and coffee flavours. We love the concentration and power of this very youthful zin. A bit bigger and brighter than the Lytton Springs it needs another two to four years to really hit its stride. The blend is a skilful mix of zinfandel (70), cariganane (18), petite sirah (10) and mataro (2).Tasted: 23 September 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $47.00 | 750ml | fine wine shops |
