John Duval Plexus 2005
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThe third vintage for this blended wine in which the shiraz provides the backbone in this forward, elegantly-styled red. Some of the fruit comes from own rooted, 80-100 year old vines. Look for spicy, floral, peppery, black cherry, licorice, aromas. On the palate it is ripe, round, smooth and velvety with a touch of acidity freshness and fresh black cherry, floral, spicy, rootsy, strawberry jam, licorice and mint flavours. Very fine grained tannins, with fine finesse and a juicy finish. Attractive now, but should improve with another two to five years in bottle. The blend is 50/34/16 shiraz/grenache/mourvèdre.Tasted: 12 November 2007Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | speculative - Mark Anthony Brands |
