Penfolds Shiraz Kalimna Bin 28 2004
South Australia, AustraliaKalimna is a multi-region blend primarily sourced from the Barossa, Clare, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek regions. The emphasis is on the same lush fruit you see in 389; the oak used is second - and third - use American barrels handed down through the Grange and Bin 389 programmes. Look for rich licorice syrupy, tobacco, meaty red in this the 45th consecutive vintage of Bin 28. This is classic, warm-climate, shiraz with those telltale blueberry notes and just a whiff of smoky bacon. Very fine effort.Tasted: 20 August 2007Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $35.99 | 750ml | specialty listing |
