Carmen Cabernet Sauvignon Gold Reserve 1999
Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe Gold Reserve is 100 per cent cabernet sauvignon from a single vineyard called "Carneros" that spends 18 months in new French oak. Look for a big spicy, minty, leafy, cassis, barnyard, sausage, peppery, garrigue aromas with a menthol, smoky leather streak. Rich, round, intense palate with lots of ripe, grainy tannins. Fat minty, menthol, coffee, peppery, cassis jam, vanilla, tobacco, cedar flavours with a big streak of black olive and tar. Quite warm on the finish, this still needs 3-5 years of aging.Tasted: 23 January 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $77.95 | 750ml | Speculative Listing - Calibrium |
