Carmen Cabernet Sauvignon Gold Reserve 1997
Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe Gold Reserve is 100 per cent cabernet sauvignon from a single vineyard called "Carneros" that spends 18 months in new French oak. The colour is deep cherry/purple; the aromas are flavours are an intense mix of pepper, spicy, earth, clove, blackberry jam and ripe cassis with vanilla in the background. Powerful but balanced it has lots of concentration and rich flavours. Moderately tannic but ripe it reminds us of Pauillac. Fine potential. Best in 5-10 years.Tasted: 01 March 2000Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $59.95 | 750ml |
