Carmen Cabernet Sauvignon Gold Reserve 2001
Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe first blend put together by winemaker Pilar González. Look for big chocolate, cassis jam, tobacco, peppery, iodine aromas spiked with spicy, vanilla and menthol. Fine rich entry with dry concentrated fruit flavours and good acidity. More spicy, vanilla, coffee, cassis jam and orange peel flavours with smoky resin and cedar-y undertones. Dry, warm, grippy finish, still needs 3-5 years. A seriously low crop with a big savoury Alto Jahuel, Maipo signature.Tasted: 10 March 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $77.95 | 750ml | speculative listing - Calibrium |
