Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalFrequent showers throughout the growing season retarded ripening, though September was hot. Overall, yields were down 30 percent in 1997. Quality was high but almost two decades down the road this port is showing some age and is somewhat light for the traditional Fonseca style. Certainly advanced at this point, and easy to drink, offering soft, round black fruit flavours and sweet, fading tannins. Showing maturity, but a ready to drink port is always welcomed in our house. Drink before the 1994.Tasted: 23 March 2018Tasted by: Prices:

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalSoft round fruity easy sipping at the moment in this young stage. This will need plenty of time to mature and put on some weight and depth. Plenty of raisin black fruits and no shortage of tannin bode well for the future of this port.Tasted: 25 May 2004Tasted by: Prices:
