Mission Hill Family Estate Oculus 1999

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIntense black cherry, black pepper nose with streaks of coffee. Firm lean texture with good acid and leafy, cranberry/toffee, oak flavours. The finish is dry and tannic at this point but it will soften up. The balance is there. Re-tasted in 2015 and there isn't much left. Dry and hard with bell pepper resonating and plenty of acid showing through. The highest percentage ever of cabernet sauvignon but it appears to have been too much for the blend. Drink up. The blend is 22/58/20 merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc; 12 months in 57 percent new French oak: 61 percent Osoyoos 30 percent Oliver fruit.Tasted: 04 February 2003Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
