Champagne Gardet Brut Rosé NV
Champagne, FranceGardet has been an active negociant in Champagne since 1895, based in the Aube's Chigny Les Roses. Their Brut Rosé is made from the same blend as their flagship Brut Tradition (40% pinot noir, 45% meunier, 10% chardonnay), but with 10% still pinot noir added for the colour. It spent up to 36 months on lees prior to disgorge with 8 g/L. Pouring a glowing orange / salmon hue, this opens with fresh yeast dough and bitter red apple, with a sharp acidity tuning this tart, and a cushy lees bed to soften. Gentle smoked stones and strawberry meringue work through the palate to a bitter orange finish. Bottled in clear glass, so be cautious of storage.Prices:| BC | $87.00 | 750ml |

Champagne Moët & Chandon Rosé Imperial Brut NV
Champagne, FranceMoët has records dating back to 1881 showing Napoleon ordering the Rosé Impérial, so we know it has history. In today's realm, one detail that sets this rosé apart from most peers is the use of meunier in the base wine mix. Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez puts the meunier through thermovinification, macerating the fruit for only 2 hours and then pressing, with no skin or seed contact. This extracts a lot of colour and fruit, thought it's not a long-lived production method, so they also add pinot noir, macerated as normal. This is also the only red that goes into the reserves, as it has the structure and production method to last years. The two each make up 10% of the final blend of the Rosé Impérial, with chardonnay making up the majority at 80%. After up to 48 months on lees, this is dosed with 7 g/L. Ripe strawberry, candied red apple, bitter orange pith fill a cushy, somewhat pasty palate, with softer mousse, and the dosage keeping this extra friendly to the uninitiated. Drinking now.Prices:| BC | $100.00 | 750ml |

Champagne Marie Copinet Non pas Dans ... la Craie NV
Côte de Sézanne, Champagne, FranceMarie-Laure Copinet and her winemaker husband Alexandre Kowal have taken over her family's estate, founded by her father Jacques in 1975. Before then, the Copinets were selling their fruit to Moet, but Jacques' work at Taittinger led him to decide to create their own grower champagne (RM) estate. They are based in the tiny Champagne village of Montgenost (population 140) in the Côtes des Sézanne, and they own 9 hectares of vineyards in Côtes des Sézanne, Côtes des Bar, and Vallée de la Marne, producing only 5,500 cases annually, and began organic conversion in 2018. Nos pas dans... is a series of soil / grape studies put out by Marie Copinet. In this case, this is chardonnay on the chalky soils of Montgenost, and from the 2021 vintage. This was native fermented with full MLF in stainless, and was disgorged November 2025 with 0 dosage. Taut and chalk-lined, with meyer lemon, crunchy green apple, oyster shell streaking along the sleek palate, with a kiss of meringue on the core, but otherwise left pure, confident, and uncompromising. Memorable.Prices:| ON | $103.00 | 750ml |

Champagne Valentin Leflaive CV 19 3.0 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2019
Côte des Blancs, Champagne, Francef Leflaive sounds familiar, you're certainly correct, as the family has been growing and making wine in nearby Puligny-Montrachet since 1580. Olivier Leflaive began this new project in Champagne, named for his young son Valentin, in 2015. The CV refers to the GC of Cramant (21%) and the 1er Cru of Vertus (52%), from base year 2019 (the label's 19) and 56%(!) reserve wines. The 40ish year old vines were fermented in stainless, and my bottle was disgorged in November 2023 with 3 g/L (the 3.0) on the label. Lemon meringue, crème brulée, light toast is woven through the lees-decked palate, studded with chalk which turns into oyster shell on the lingering finish. A stylish, smart, modern BdB.Prices:| BC | $110.00 | 750ml |

Pouring a gentle salmon hue (more a subtle rosé than a blanc), this streams along the svelte palate palate with wild strawberries, raspberries, crushed blossoms, meringue, and crisp green apple, leaving a trail of lemon pith and kisses of bergamot in its wake. East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFruit from this classic BC BdB comes from a single block of 2013 estate plantings and was fermented in older puncheons for 7 months before heading to bottle for 22 months sur lattes. This bottle was disgorged in winter 2026 with a low dosage (built from 2023 Chardonnay), leaving it around 5 g/L. Pouring a deeper lemon hue, with ripe lemon, verbena, ripe green apple, and downy lees pushing this streamlined BdB over a smoked stone base. Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThe latest Charme de L'île blends ortega, schönburger, pinot gris, and bacchus from various Vancouver Island vineyards, and the result is very pleasing. It was fermented dry in stainless steel, then moved to a pressurized Charmat tank for secondary fermentation and a final 8 g/L residual sugar, at or about the threshold most consumers detect sweetness. The style, however, is super crisp and fresh, with a mix of fruity aromas and flavours led by gooseberry, white pear, and fresh melon, streaked with a touch of orange and tangerine citrus. Bartier Bros. Brut NV
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Bartier traditional method sparkling program has gone multi-vintage, using a small reserve of wines to bolster the house style. Over the years, the reserve will add increasing complexity to this wine, which already has a purity of flavour and is a Bartier trademark. It is entirely Chardonnay, fermented and aged for four months in stainless steel before being bottled for a minimum of a year. Juicy green and red apple float back and forth in a sparkler that is simple and fun to drink now, but has the acidity to repay a few extra years of bottle age should you choose to cellar it. Most and shellfish work well here. In what is now a crowded field, Bartier Brut is holding its own.Prices:| BC | $34.99 | 750ml |

Storm Haven Riesling Gibson Block 3 2023
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe latest release of Gibson's Block under the Storm Haven label represents the best of what comes off the 107-acre Synchromesh home site in Okanagan Falls. The magic lies in the decomposed granite and sandy gravels, which produce what I would say is the best Mosel-style wine made outside the famous German wine region. Fragrant and awash in peaches, tangerine, lime rind, and honeysuckle, the sweet midpalate turns juicy amid heightened acidity throughout. At only 7.8% alcohol, this is an authentic low-alcohol offering full of energy and flavour. Riesling aficionados will love this wine.Prices:| BC | $45.00 | 750ml |

Tantalus Rosé 2025
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAn abundant 2025 vintage resulted in this rosé returning to East Kelowna Slopes fruit, and in this year, 100% pinot noir. The fruit was whole bunch pressed and fermented in stainless for the free run, with harder pressings fermented in neutral French barrels and aged on full lees. Post ferment and a short rest, the two parts were blended and rested again before bottling. Pouring a spring salmon hue, this opens with crushed strawberry, raspberry, pithy tangerine over a river stone base, with a fine layer of lees to bed, shining grapefruit acidity, and lingering crushed stones seeing out the finish. A smart, charming, polished rosé to crack into this summer, liberally.Prices:| BC | $23.50 | 750ml |

Zarate Rosé Fontecón 2024
Rías Baixas, Galicia, SpainFounded in 1707, the family owned Zárate estate is located in Rías Baixas' Vale do Salinas subregion. Their sloping, weathered granite vineyards are translated via Albariño, a grape intrinsically associated with the estate. Seventh-generation Eulogio Pomares runs this historic bodega today, farming almost fully biodynamically. This rosé blends Caiño Tinto, Espadeiro, and Albariño from 15-year-old vines on granite and red clays (locally referred to as castel), at 50m. The Caiño Tinto and Albariño were co-fermented after a cool maceration over 3 hours, then aged 3 months on fine lees in stainless. The whole bunches of Espadeiro went into French barrels, where it remained for 3 months. The two lots were then blended and bottled without fining or filtration. Pouring a pale peach hue, this silken rosé streams strawberry blossoms, tangerine pith, pink grapefruit, subtle wild sage along a slender palate, with a gentle granitic buzz underlay that washes into salinity on the finish. Quite a serious, sophisticated rosé, as to be expected from Eulogio. Finished with a Diam10 cork, so it can be expected to age.Prices:| ON | $46.00 | 750ml |

Tantalus Riesling Lab Hard Pressings Experiment 15 2025
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Tantalus Lab series shines a light on the harvest crew, who often come from around the world. Winemaker David Patterson gives them the challenge of making their own wine from the leftover hard pressings from the annual Riesling harvest. The label is designed to explore non-traditional expressions of Riesling, focusing on "hard pressings" yielding juice extracted at higher pressure, which is typically richer in phenolics and texture. Production is very limited and often sold direct-to-consumer or wine club only. This 2025 trades elegance for some extra mid-palate weight and a more rustic texture. It is finished in an off-dry style that covers any bitterness from the pressings and, all in all, is pretty delicious. Much better than the previous version in my estimation. This would be a fine match for any dish that brings a medium measure of spice to the dinner table.Prices:| BC | $21.75 | 750ml |

East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2025 marked a return to some normalcy in BC vineyards, and at Tantalus, this riesling, a blend of clone 21B (75%) and clone 49 (25%), is proof in the glass. The fruit is a mix of estate plantings, now more than two decades old, and a nearby site in the East Kelowna Slopes. It presents as a touch riper than in previous years, with attractive lime blossom, grapefruit, and even pineapple. It is just off-dry in feel despite its 14.9 g/L of residual sugar, because, as winemaker David Patterson says, "the fruit is self-balancing," with the residual sugar working its way into an explosion of acid tension. Chalk, lemons, minerals, citrus, and peach rule the palate and the finish. A masterpiece in simplicity and a star with food. This will age effortlessly under screwcap, too.Prices:| BC | $30.99 | 750ml |
