Unsworth Vineyards Pinot Noir 2023
Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThe pale, pale red introductory Unsworth pinot comes from several Cowichan vineyards and blends clones 115, 667, 777, and 828. It ferments in stainless steel, which shows in the fresh, juicy fruit that fills your mouth. This '23 version is a little more friendly and, wait for it, almost soft (that is a good thing, Unsworth). It spends 15 months in French oak, now reduced to 5% new. It is highly perfumed and full of plummy dark fruit that slips down easily. It still has all the island hallmarks, green herbs, forest floor, and bright acidity, but it is just a little bit more approachable, which it needs at this level. At 12.7% alcohol, it will still attract the geeks but also soothe the drinkers. As the Unsworth vineyards come online, there will be plenty of pinot noir and chardonnay coming out of this special island producer.Tasted: 16 May 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $38.99 | 750ml | BCL Stores |
