Domaine des Tourelles Red 2016

LebanonThe 2016 is a library release, with only 120 bottles sent to BC (the 2021 is currently in market). This comes from vineyards in the western Bekaa valley at 1050m, and blends 40% syrah, 40% cabernet sauvignon, 15% cinsault, 5% carignan. The vines are dry farmed, 15-20 years old, and rooted in sandy limestone over clay. All was native fermented in concrete vats before blending, and aging in the same for 2 years. Now 10 years along, the wine is fully harmonious, with long, well-knit furry tannins framing baked cherry, worked leather, baking spice, and Worcestershire. This is holding a fine line of acidity, though more recent vintages were produced in a fresher style overall. This would still suit those looking for a wine with some age, and an ideal pairing for a roast beef dinner.Tasted: 16 February 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
