Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune Rouge 2021

Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceDrouhin has been around since the 1880s, with the current generation's great grandfather starting the business as a negociant. In the early 20th century the family started as winemakers, purchasing and planting their first vineyards in the early 1960s. This CdB is partially from estate fruit, with the rest coming as grapes and must purchased from growers. It was native fermented and macerated in small open vats over 3 weeks prior to pressing off into oak barrels (20% new) where it rests 12 - 16 months. Juicy strawberry, black raspberry is woven with black tea and forest spices, and wrapped with softly sticky tannins that cushion the perfumed core, finishing with a subtle orange rind and dusting of wood spice. From the fantastic 2021, this is drinking very smartly now, ideally with wild mushrooms and / or wild salmon.Tasted: 07 December 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
