Doña Paula Estate High Altitude Malbec 2023

Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaDona Paula has turned out several solid wines under this label, and 2023 is another fine effort. It opens with floral, black fruit, an opaque colour and some baking spice. The palate is a four square mix of black cherries and blueberries that fill the mouth from front to back. The fruit is a 90/10 split of grapes from Finca Alluvia in Gualtallary, Tupungato, at 1350m altitude, and Finca Los Indios in El Cepillo, San Carlos, at 1100m, aged in a combination of first, 2nd, and 3rd use French oak barrels for nine months. A tasty, dry malbec made for spaghetti Bolognese or a grilled steak.Tasted: 20 February 2025Tasted by: Prices:
