Doña Paula Estate High Altitude Malbec 2022
Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaNo significant changes here. The colour is nearly opaque, and the nose is a floral, violet affair, with baking spices and a stony mineral underside. The attack is fresh and vibrant with black cherries and a whiff of dried herbs at 14%. A drier style malbec from a so-so vintage that would be a fine partner for beef tacos or grilled flank steak. Doña Paula High Altitude Malbec is a 90/10 split of grapes from Finca Alluvia in Gualtallary, Tupungato, at 1350m altitude; and Finca Los Indios in El Cepillo, San Carlos, at 1100m. It is aged in a mix of first, 2nd, and 3rd use French oak barrels for nine months.Tasted: 13 August 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $19.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
