Doña Paula Estate High Altitude Malbec 2021

Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThe colour is deep, almost opaque, violet. The nose is a riot of violets, black fruit, and baking spice, with some violets and spices dusted in minerals. On the palate, cherries, mint, and a vibrant run of acidity keep it fresh even at 14.5 percent alcohol. The Doña Paula malbec is a 90/10 split of grapes from Finca Alluvia in Gualtallary, Tupungato, at 1350m altitude; and Finca Los Indios in El Cepillo, San Carlos, at 1100m. It is aged in a mix of first, 2nd, and 3rd use French oak barrels for nine months. A drier style malbec that would be perfect with beef tacos or a favourite hunk of Italian cheese.Tasted: 09 March 2023Tasted by: Prices:
