California, United StatesThe RS chardonnay continues its journey to freshness and sophistication while holding onto some California sunshine. It is 60% barrel fermented and aged in French oak barrels that get monthly stirring. Some 40% of the wine is aged in stainless steel, and 25% does not go through the softening malolactic fermentation process, leaving this wine fresh and crisp. The fruit is selected from cooler coastal locations outside Sonoma County, including Monterey and Santa Barbara, which gives it a bright tropical note mixed with lemon curd and pear, with a creamy, spicy texture, all at a welcomed 13.5% alcohol.
