Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva Tenuta Tignanello 2021

Tuscany, ItalySince 2011, the Riserva Marchese Antinori has come from the same carefully tended vineyard that spawns the noted Super Tuscan, Tenuta Tignanello. The 90/5/5 sangiovese / cabernet sauvignon / merlot blend has improved yearly, responding to lower yields and the impeccable Antinori winemaking regime. In 2021, a year some have called a once in a century vintage, the wine is sensational, led by an inviting nose of red and blue fruit, violets, minerals, and a savoury, earthy dried herb undercurrent. On the palate, black plums and ripe red cherries lead the charge, flecked with spices and tobacco. The tannins are ripe and sweet, punctured by a salty mineral finish. There is no rush to drink this wine. It will only improve through 2030 and beyond. Stock up the cellar.Tasted: 04 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
