Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva Tenuta Tignanello 2015

Tuscany, ItalyThe new Bargino facility places the Antinori winery under one roof for the first time in over 100 years closing the quality circle Marchese Piero Antinori committed to back in the late 1960s when he sought to put Tuscan wines back on the international wine map first with Tignanello and eventually fulfilling a desire to help restore the name of Chianti Classico to its former glory. The 2015 Tenuta Tignanello Chianti Classico Riserva comes off the same site as Tignanello and it is sensational. The sangiovese is all about vibrancy. So floral and fresh and packed with pure, fresh, dry, vertical red fruit flavours flecked with a salty, savoury undercurrent. A small amount of merlot and cabernet sauvignon is added to the is aged in a mix of French and Slavonian oak for 16 months and racked five times over that period.
