Salta, North, ArgentinaFrom the high altitude region of Salta, the vineyards for this malbec range from 1700 to 3111 metres above sea level. There's no shortage of fruit ripeness here, with macerated blackberries and dark cherries, but it still retains a floral perfume and sapidity, with balanced, integrated oak (15 months in 2nd to 5th fill French barriques), that keeps this from being monolithic. It shows impressive concentration, with suave, dense tannins typical of mountain fruit, suggesting this will be worth revisiting over the next 4-5 years.
