Tenuta Luce La Vite Lucente 2020

Tuscany, ItalyThe 2020 growing season began in the second week of March for Sangiovese and the third week for Merlot. Spring was sunny, and the flowering dodged the rains before a hot, dry summer arrived, accompanied by some rains in May and June. This favoured an excellent flowering, which took place slightly earlier in the last week of May. Summer was hot and dry, interrupted by some well-received rains in late August. The harvest began September 3 under ideal conditions, with sunny days without heat peaks. Lucente is always a friendlier version of Luce, but it comes with purpose and finesse. The nose is a stylish mix of luxurious black cherries and blueberry that spill onto the palate streaked with grilled toast and balsamic notes. At 14% alcohol the balance allows the fruit to pop out among a cloak of dense sweet tannins. Drink or hold through 2026 and let it hit its full stride.
