Tenuta Luce La Vite Lucente 1995

Tuscany, ItalyLucente takes us to Tuscany the home of winemaker Lamberto Frescobaldi. I'm guessing the addition of 15 percent merlot to this sangiovese-based wine was Tim Mondavi's idea to add opulence and sheen to the structurally sound but lean sangiovese. This is a stylish Euro-red that was perfect with the beef tenderloin that brings out the earthy side of this wine.
