Santa Rita Triple C 2018
Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe Triple Cs are cabernet franc 65%, cabernet sauvignon 35%, and carmenere 5%, all vinified solo. The final blend is put together six months after the initial barrel down. The new blend then goes to new French oak for 17 months. The result is a spicy, deep, dark boldo red awash in bay leaf, black currants, and blueberries. The palate is long and warm, with blackcurrant and blueberry streaked with tobacco, leather, and pepper, and there is a long, dry, persistent, entirely savoury note at the finish.
