Gérard Bertrand An 77 Clairette du Languedoc Adissan 2022

Clairette du Languedoc, Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceI first saw this wine under the Art de Vivre label at the Bertrand winery. It was Gerard’s tribute to the Mediterranean way of life, right down to its natural ceramic bottle. The current packaging is more modern, leaving the focus on the underappreciated clairette grape. Clairette d’Adissan is a grape variety introduced in the South of France by the Greek civilization during antiquity, which has survived for more than 2000 years while retaining its original qualities. Adissan is still the name of a charming village located in the heart of Languedoc. Yellow fruits dominate the aromas with an underlying minerality that pokes through the finish. It is both refreshing and somewhat slick. On the palate, pears and peaches flecked with plums and a hint of garrigue deliver a flavourful pour. Serve chilled on the patio with a favourite seafood starter.Tasted: 04 April 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
