Les Vignerons du Castelas Côtes du Rhône 2020

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceThis delicious workhorse red blend of 60/40 syrah/grenache comes off vines that average 30+ years in the ground. Cherries and red berries with a dusting of pepper, and rich, round, soft tannins coat the palate that finishes with a twist of garrigue. Expect terrific value in a red suited to beef tacos, pizza, grilled vegetables, and more. Stock up for the barbecue season. The Castelas cooperative cellar of winegrowers was created in 1952 to develop the wines of the Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages Signargues, AOP Tavel, and IGP du Gard. The Co-op works with 450 hectares, mainly in Côtes du Rhône, and more than 45 families of winegrowers. The Côtes du Rhône appellation stands out for its diverse rocky soils (granite, sandy silica, limestone and more) and a wide selection of grapes, like syrah, grenache noir, marsanne, roussanne, viognier, and much more.Tasted: 16 March 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
