Clos Fornelli Niellucciu 2021

Corsica, Sud de France, FranceClos Fornelli is a family property of 45 hectares on the eastern coast of Corsica, 18 of which are planted with vines. Owner Josée Vanucci and her husband Fabrice Couloumère organically farm indigenous Corsican varieties, such as this Niellucciu (sangiovese), with a kiss of Minustellu. From deep alluvial soils, this was native fermented in a tank before aging in concrete for up to 1 year. A firm, sticky brace of raspy tannins houses wild blackberry, black plum, and juicy boysenberry, painted with a backdrop of fragrant scrubby Mediterranean herbs and cracked pink peppercorn. Exceptionally pure and wild, and one to pour alongside herb-grilled pork and veg.Tasted: 18 February 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
