Cliff and Gorge Cabernet Franc 2022

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaHot and dry Lillooet’s sun-filled summer days and cool nights make it an ideal place to grow grapes, likened to the same weather influences as the south Okanagan Valley. This cab franc is a surprisingly elegant effort exhibiting some of those red, brambly, wirey Loire Valley notes, pitching a fresh, lively version of the franc that attracts wine nerds. Eckhard Zeidler, the owner/vintner of Cliff and Gorge Vineyards, has been growing grapes in Lillooet since 2008. He is all about the purity of fruit and letting the rusticity of the region get into this wine. Well-balanced and fully flavoured from front to back, this quality wine would be perfect with lamb chops or a pork shoulder. Lovely potential here. It was tasted from a screwcap-finished 375ml bottle.Tasted: 04 February 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
